About me

I have been knitting and sewing for many years, starting when I learned to do running stitch in third class and my grandmother taught me to knit around the same time. Since then, I have made my own clothes as an impecunious Uni student both in Sydney and while studying in New York and knitted elaborate jumpers and cardigans while travelling on the train for four hours to work and home for two years.

In addition, I am a keen spinner, with a particular fondness for silk and mohair and I love dyeing yarns and fabrics and watching the brilliant colours emerge. I have also dabbled in embroidery, needlepoint and beading.

About the shop

Oh So Elegant! is located in Grafton, NSW in the beautiful North coast hinterland. The winters are balmy and the weather is generally fine and sunny.

You are welcome to visit the shop - a heritage-style house built in 1879, filled with antique Australian furniture.

You may wish to relax in the rocking chairs on the front verandah, browsing through pattern books and magazines with a complimentary cup of tea and a biscuit.
